Repentance of the Blogger

Well here I am, repentant and ready to begin again. As of this post I am watching The Bucket List and it has inspired me to better myself when it comes to writing in this here blog. This might be the only way certain people receive updates on my little family. So heeeeere we go!

The last few months have been full of surprises, excitement, depression, disapointment and joy. I was afraid to lose my job, afraid to go to prison, I saw my son grow several teeth and learn to crawl. To put it shortly it has been life in general.

ALastor has been crawling all over the place lately, he can pull himself up onto chairs and is able to walk while holding my hand. He has taken several shaky steps but is nowhere near walking on his own. He grins almost as much as he cries (which is often) but his smiles always light up my day. He has finally been able to meet all of his Uncles on my side of the family. Uncle Chad has less than a year left on his mission in Beunos Aires. He is really looking forward to meeting Alastor. But if he keeps referring to him as "little Al" or "AL" i'm going to hide him away until he learns to call him by his proper name. Not a big deal but I don't want a habit formed.

Meghan has been doing great taking care of our little man. He has been getting into a good bit of trouble lately, so we have been baby-proofing out cabinets. She loves taking him out on walks and swinging in the front yard. She has gotten to know a large group of mothers in our culdesac, they are a very good source of parenting tips and babysitting.

Work has been good. I recently got a raise and have been working full-time for a few months now. It is hard work but I love being able to provide for my family. I have been drawing comics for our bi-monthly newsletter and they have been received pretty well.

I am currently taking a math course that should clear up all of my Math requirements for college in about eight weeks. Sounds too good to be true, but it has been good so far. Math and I are fickle friends but we'll have a temporary seize fire for the next six weeks. Once all of this hooflah is over with I will be taking (I hope) 3D design, History and perhaps Sculpting the Human Figure. And then Photography in the Spring. We'll see how things turn out, but I am excited to continue school!
Well well, this is turning out to be a lot easier than I thought. Good.

Ahhh finally an entry!

School was nuts! But now it is over. I took three classes, 2D Design. Intro to Creative Writing, and Computer Graphics Applications. All three of them were very fun, but also very time consuming, thus no entries on my little blog here. Hopefully my family will forgive me when they see all of my fun pictures!

Alastor is almost seven months old now. He can sit up on his own and he eats solids, he poops solids too Haha! He sure keeps Meghan on her toes a lot. She has been keeping our new apartment looking great. We are going to have a garden in the backyard behind the parking lot. We'll be growing pumpkins for Halloween and peppers and stuff for me to cook with.

My folks and Meghan's folks have been up to visit in the last few months, and we'll be seeing them all soon in July when we finally go down to California for a visit! The reason for all of that is because Dan and Candace are getting Married! Hoorah! They get married in July in the Draper, UT Temple.

I am taking a short break off from school to concentrate on my artwork. I got a new full-time position at work so the checks have been getting bigger. Meghan and I are having people coming over to model for our drawings pretty regularly, it has been a blast. I have a lot of fun co-workers that are eager to be drawn.

Anywho, i will leave it at that and post a bunch of pictures!

Finally!!!

A bug in the system!!! I swear the last three times I have attempted to add something to this blog the site would crash, and not just for the day, it would be several days! Oh well so I will keep this brief so I don't have to risk this stupid site crashing again!!
Alastor has learned how to coo and giggle and squeel lately. He has also been quite the pain in the backside. But it's just him growing up. He has outgrown his current set of clothes so we went through the next bag. We found a cute hat inside that Mom likes to put on him quite a bit. I like it as well.
Moving has pretty much been completed, I don't think we have any more boxes to unload and the Baby's room has finally been cleared. It feels good to have everything done and have the place look complete. Soon we will be putting in a love seat that my Aunt Kris has been kind enough to donate. I think it will be perfect to have more seating in the front room so everyone can sit down when we have guests over.

January was an awful month money-wise. With rent, deposits, school, moving, never ending hospital bills and poor hours at work we saw out bank accounts slowly drop to the floor. Hours have gotten better at work lately, so as long as that continues to happen we should be able to survive having a family. It was pretty darn scary and depressing though.
On more positive news my little brother Dan is getting married! He and his fiance Candace will be getting married in July. We went out to celebrate at the China Deluxe Buffet, which is the same place where we took Dan and Candace on their first date. We love it there, lots of nice food. Meghan and I have been hoping that those two would end up together. Yay!

Moved!!!

Well this week was spent moving every object from our old apartment into our new one! We now live in Orem, hidden behind the BestBuy and Michaels. It has two bedrooms so now Alastor has his onw place too!

We spent the last two days unloading our goodies and getting things set up to look like a home again. The television was the first to be set up of course. But now the front room is beginning to look finished, which is rather nice since the kitchen used to be covered in boxes of my books!!

We purchased some rather nice shelves to put up my books and DVDs. We watched the Xmen Trilogy while putting them up, i'd have to say I am rather proud. Driving the boxes of the shelves over was an adventure. I had one coming throught the trunk of the car into the car, then Meghan and Baby go in and I slid the other box through the rear windows whit Meghan holding them down. She was very upset at my configuration. "I hate you!" she said over and over. It was rather funny to me.
It's rather nice for Alastor to have his own room and to have another closet as storage space. He seems to sleep good enough on his own and we can still hear him if he cries. So now we all have our own personal space.
Meghan''s favorite place is the kitchen. It has room for a table and chairs...not that we have any yet, but there is room for one. It's almost finished as well once we fuind a place for everything.
Otherwise things are going great! Being closer to school and work is really working out for me. It's fun being closer to all the stores I love too. And once the snow melts it'll get even better!!

A Little Newsy stuff

Well school begins soon for me this week. I am taking three classes, that's right three as compared to the hefty load of one from last semester. Computer Graphics Application, 2D Design, and Creative Writing. So it should be a rather fun time as long as the lunkheads who write my schedule at work keep me in class on time.

In other news, we are moving!! It's not a far move, but we are heading to Orem behind the BestBuy area. So it puts me right between school and work. It sounds like we'll actually have a few people helping us out so as long as it doesn't snow we should be all right. I've never driven a U-Haul before so I am a little scared about that.

I caught Alastor giggling on video so I thought I would share that with you guys. Meghan was playing with him and getting him to repeat noises she made.

Otherwise life goes on, once we move into our new place and I get the darn Internet hooked up i'll post a tour of the new digs.

Quick note

I started a DeviantArt page go check it out!! it is at Stygiansatyrcarlyle.deviantart.com

Christmastime!

Tis' the season and it's time to write up some memories hehe. Uncle Dan came by to see his nephew before he left for Boston to have Christmas with Candace and her family. I'm hoping that she is upgraded to Aunt Candace sooner than later after this trip. I could tell that he would miss Alastor, we miss him too. We have those two over almost every night so it's been rather boring without those two around, but we've been managing.
Alastor has been getting better with his baths and seems to enjoy them more once he realizes what we are doing to him. He has been smiling and gurgling so much! Grandma and Grandpa Workman got him some really cute stuff for Christmas. He especially likes this little Glow worm-esque Seahorse thing that glows and plays music when he squeezes it. I wasn't sure if he would like it but he was smiling and kicking the whole time. We haven't made a name for this one yet, but he also really likes his little Octopus we named Otto.
Meghan got me a travel Etch-a-sketch for Christmas, i've always enjoyed those things and I wanted one for when I am stuck in church or something without paper to draw on. I got her this DVD of the movie The Christmas Toy. It's her favorite Christmas movie but she didn't ask for it so she wasn't expecting it at all. It was her favorite gift, she tackled me and everything.
We spent a little time in Springville with the family. Granda took out some old home movies and Dan and Me when I was about four years old. It was pretty intense to see footage that was almost twenty years old of me. We also saw my cousins who are all married and have kids now when they were little. Ryan was doing some bit about nudity and how we're all naked under our clothing, it was the funniest thing ever.
On December 19th Jason and Ellen had their little boy Gavin. He is so cute! Alastor has two little future playmates in the family. Beth is a few months older and now he has Gavin who is 2 months younger than him. It'll be fun when they all get older and play together. It was really fun having Alastor's first Christmas. We dressed him in the only holiday-ish onesie he had and some cute pants that he finally fits. He keeps getting heavier and longer, it's very exciting. I can't wait for him to fit in his overalls! Anywho, the holiday was wonderful and we all enjoyed it.
